2017 Love of Learning Award Recipient
Kellee Coviak Hansen has been selected as a recipient of Phi Kappa Phi’s Love of Learning Award, which she used to help fund her presentation at the annual American Music Therapy Association conference in November 2017. Each year, through a competitive process, Phi Kappa Phi distributes two hundred Love of Learning Awards, at $500 each, to members who have completed their Bachelor’s degrees, for the purpose of continuing their studies or professional development. Kellee works as the Founder and Executive Director of CODA Music Therapy Services, LLC, in Lansing. She has devoted herself to the study and execution of music therapy, specializing in music therapy within special education, early childhood developmental music, and medical music therapy. She is involved in the leadership of numerous professional organizations in her field, and is currently serving her second term as president of the Michigan Musical Therapists.
Kellee graduated from Michigan State University with Bachelor’s degrees in Music Education and Music Therapy. She went on to receive her Master’s in Special Education from the University of North Dakota in 2015. Kellee currently resides in Lansing with her husband, son, and cat. She is an avid Spartan fan and frequently attends football and basketball games.
