2018 Love of Learning Award Recipient
Xuehong (Stella) He has been selected as a recipient of this year’s Love of Learning award. Each year, through a competitive process, Phi Kappa Phi distributes two hundred Love of Learning Awards, at $500 each, to members who have completed their bachelor’s degree, for the purpose of continuing their studies or professional development.
Stella is currently a doctoral student in the Second Language Studies program studying Chinese vocabulary in computer assisted self-study environments. In her research, she explores the effects of working memory and presentation formats on learner attention and outcomes. She will use the funds to cover expenses during the data collection process of her dissertation research.
Stella was born in Guangdong Province, China. She completed her bachelor’s degree in mainland China at Sun Yat-Sen University, then received her Master’s in Applied Linguistics at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
